Crafted of figured Walnut, this piece provides ample storage while maintaining a look of simple elegance. With it's fluted quarter columns and raised panel sides, it shows the sophistication with which some rural Pennsylvania craftsmen worked. The use of highly figured crotch Walnut on the upper drawer fronts and the carved fan shows the craftsman's ability to creatively enhance the overall aesthetic of a functional piece without embellishing it with an over abundance of carving.
