When I talk about furniture connoisseurship, I’m basically talking about three or four aspects of a piece that make it what it is. If I try to categorize these aspects they break down into design, craftsmanship, materials and finish.
Cabinetmaker, furniture maker, woodworker, period furniture maker, what am I? There are a lot of terms in this business that all amount to the same thing but in this day and age you need to use the “proper” term.
Sure, I know the saying goes “there’s no tool like an old tool” or something like that, but I’ve had the opportunity to try out a relatively new one.
Ok, ok I know it’s been a while again. Since the show in Novi, MI life has been more than a little hectic. Those who know me, and those who’ve talked to me, know that I have lots of things ready to go for the blog. The problem has been finding time to sit in front of a computer long enough to put together a decent post.
